We think of strength in terms of muscle mass, lifting, stamina, physical prowess. But shifting that mindset to a courageous spirit changes the meaning of strength. How strong are we when it comes to wading through the hard, emotional times that inevitably happen?
As we go through life, challenges create holding patterns in the body: by accidents, surgery, trauma, etc. The benefit of doing this type of work (movement, bodywork, ergonomics, fitness) is that it can restore our resiliency.
Shamash Alidina notes that resiliency can be taught and practicing mindfulness can help us bounce back from adversity.
