EXAMPLE OF PRACTITIONERS - Photo, Bio, Video and Contact info only.

This is a prototype. My thoughts are that it will be alphabetized - or it can be that the “contact only” people at the top as you see here, and then the rest of the people with photos and bios below. Of course this is a starting point and can be changed and/or adjusted. The idea of this bio is that they will be organized per state/country. So this is JUST AN EXAMPLE before I start organizing them as such. I want to make sure that you like the layout of this so I can start organizing as such.

Tamar Myers

Tamar Myers began practicing massage in 1992. She was first introduced to Judith Aston after 4 years as a massage therapist. Her own interest in dance and fitness was feeding her interest in movement and in making more comprehensive changes in people’s habits. Aston Kinetics gave her the tools to assess, treat and teach that she was looking for. After the certification training, athro-kinetics and fitness training, Tamar began exploring the world of connective tissue. It seemed that everything was leading her towards osteopathic techniques. For the last 15 years, she has studied visceral, neural and cranial techniques with European osteopaths both in the US as well as in Canada and Europe. The nature of this work fits perfectly into her Aston background since the focus is on movement.

Helping to find and free what is rigid in the body, but should be mobile is the essence of Tamar’s hands-on work. Helping to identify what could move more fluidly and three-dimensionally in people’s activities is what Tamar focuses on when teaching.

Shirley Lynch, OT, MS, OTR, LCMT

I attended my first workshop with Judith Aston in the late 1990s. As a massage therapist in private practice for 20 years, and an active mover in life myself, I was looking for ways to incorporate movement into my practice. I knew by the end of that first workshop that Aston-Patterning® was a system that offered everything I was looking for and more – a way to bring natural movement to my bodywork technique, a method to assess and treat clients with accuracy for improved results, and teaching tools to coach clients to bring the changes from sessions to their life activities. My own movement became an integral part of each hands-on session. For me it was a natural progression to then apply the Aston principles to my life activities. Rather than have an activity imposed on my body with ill effect, I learned to coordinate my whole body movement to match the shape and design of each activity. As a result, my body became more resilient and evenly toned, and my clients gained more from sessions and were better able to sustain those changes in their daily lives. Everything took less effort and was more fun! Life itself became a dance.

Certified in Aston-Patterning® in 2002 and Arthro-Kinetics® in 2008, I have continued to study with Judith Aston and Brian Linderoth, and have completed certifications in Aston® Fitness. Aston®Kinetics has remained the framework for my practice and teaching, allowing me and my clients to do all the activities we love - with grace, comfort and fitness as we age.

Amanda Sikdmore

Amanda became interested in bodywork from the position of a musician in pain. She received her first Aston session in 1998 as a result of a performance related shoulder injury, and immediately recognized the immense potential value of the work for herself and other musicians. With the ultimate goal of introducing this work to other performing artists, Amanda began her studies in Aston Kinetics® in 2000 and became a Certified Practitioner in 2004.

Amanda has since developed a varied and interesting practice, teaching individual client sessions, as well as activity-specific group classes. She works not only with performing artists, but also athletes, medical professionals, office workers, … pretty much anyone who wants to investigate the deeper why of their pain or tension and learn how to use their body in a way that better supports them in their daily activities.
