Laura Servid is an Occupational Therapist by training with more than 35 years of experience. She is certified as both a practitioner and teacher in the Aston method, having begun studying Aston work in 1988. After 20 years in traditional inpatient and outpatient hospital clinics, she opened her Seattle-based private practice, Options Therapy Services, in 1997. Servid's work and teaching meld OccupationalTherapy, neurological and developmental movement with Aston Kinetics for a deeper understanding of each client’s individual complexity.
Thousands of sessions have taught her that there are endless possible combinations of forces and directions in the tissue of the human body. Each person’s form uniquely portrays their character and physical journey through life. Servid allows fascia to act as a choreographer and guide, determining movement of both the client and therapist. This technique has added depth and expertise to her treatment. Laura Servid's writing has been published in Massage and Bodywork Magazine, OT Today. She has also presented at the IASI conference in 2007.
